The Sun Foods Story

Sun Valley Foods was supplying a customer when it took an interest in its new business model. The development of Private Label products that met or exceeded brand name products in taste and quality and were targeted at retail, schools, and military applications.

In 1985 Oscar Mayer found that making bagged lunches topped the list of hassles for working mothers. Recognizing that the prepared lunch category was a relatively untapped market, Oscar Mayer set out to create a product that would revolutionize the industry, create a solution for busy moms and help to boost company sales.

Oscar Mayer devised a highly successful packaging solution that transformed Lunchable into one of the best-selling products in its history. The packaging was considered so innovative, Food & Drug Packaging magazine named Lunchable "Snack Food Package of the Year" for 1989.

In 2011 Sun Foods purchased the assets of it's customer and constructed a new processing plant for manufacturing private label products, including Kid's meals. Our goal is to provide high quality products to retailers, schools and the military while keeping an eye out for new and healthy alternatives that fit into these marketplaces.
